Moomba Festival

The iconic Moomba Festival is Melbourne’s longest-running and largest community festival held annually on the Labour Day long weekend in March.

What is CaribVic's involvement at Moomba?

As a community group, CaribVic participates in the annual Moomba Parade portraying the fun-loving Caribbean culture and people in their vibrant costumes.

In the past, the costimes were designed to capture the Carnivale theme.

CaribVic will be at the Moomba 2019 Festival showcasing the 'Colours of the Caribbean' with a Rainforest Flair!

How did CaribVic become involved in Moomba?

In celebration of the 60th Anniversary of the Moomba Parade in 2014, the Caribbean Community made a triumphant return after several very successful Presentations in the mid-90’s under the banner of the Melbourne Masqueraders.

The Presentation echoed the spirit and energy of the Notting Hill Carnival in London and Caribana in Toronto.

For those who have never experienced the euphoria, exhilaration, exhaustion and sheer fun of carnival, Moomba gives you a small taste of the real thing!
